Letter Car Heel Plates

Letter Car Heel Plates

This is the style for 1960 and 1961. Note the smooth surface. Heel plates were used
only on the driver side foot well. Two plates side by side were used.
They were attached to the floor with sheet metal screws.
I have seen new plates on Ebay for the 60 & 61 style.

This is the style used 1962, 1963. Although the plate is the same size as 1960,
the surface is full of small squares. Heel plates were used only
on the driver side foot well. Two plates side by side were used.
They were attached to the floor with sheet metal screws.
As far as I know, no one has made new heel plates in this style.

Those rubber pieces are available from Gary Goers, his part number 539.

In 1964 Chrysler started with this style. It was used
on both the driver and passenger side foot wells
and continued 1965 through 1967.
They were sewn into the carpet rather than
attached to the floor with sheet metal screws.

With the heel pad upside down, this view shows some of the stitching through the carpet.
