Let's take a look at the tail panels on the 300L:


These are original panels and show the "swirl" pattern clearly.
These panels are unique to the "L"; they are not used on the 300 model.

Steve Albu found a decal material which might be used to repair these panels; see

Let's take a look at the instrument panels on the 300L:



At first glance, there does not appear to be a swirl pattern
but indeed there is:

Very faint half-circles are there
and the design is only the right side of the circle.
The design is different than the design on the tail panels.




I measure the width of each row at 3/8".
The swirl is 1/2" diameter and the distance from
swirl mark to swirl mark is something like .010"
The 1965 300 model and the 300L share the same
instrument panel inserts.
